My 10-Minute Home Spa

0

I am sure that I am far from the only mama out there who loves spa time, self-care, and pampering. Navigating school schedules, extracurricular activities, and a daily work commute often leaves us mamas depleted and without the time โ€” or energy โ€” to make that nail or facial appointment. When I am able to get to my favorite nail salon, it’s 60-90 minutes of kid-free bliss. But, when I just can’t get there and want some pampering on the fly, I have developed my own 10-minute home spa regimen.

I whip up a lavender-peppermint foot soak and turn on my foot bath.

This one is almost too easy to be true and pampers tired feet in no time. I mix 1/4 cup of Epsom salt with 2 drops of lavender essential oil and 2 drops of peppermint essential oil. I have a HoMedics foot spa similar to this one, only about 20 years old (and still going strong!): HoMedics Footbath. It works some serious magic on my feet, and the essential oils create a relaxing scent.

As my feet are relaxing, I give myself an easy manicure with Color Street Nail Polish Strips.

I admit I was a bit skeptical of these peel and press nail color strips when I was first introduced to them. As it turns out, they are not only easy to apply, but they stay looking pretty nice for up to two weeks. I am by no means gentle on my nails and was pleased to find this 10-minute home spa treatment to be a lasting investment. I am pleased that my nails look fresh from the salon with such ease! 10-Minute Home Spa favorite #3: I invoke my inner child with animal-themed face masks!

As my feet are soaking and I am busying away applying my nail color, I can also be found with a mask on my face. Narwahl anyone? Or perhaps a unicorn? Sheet masks bring an element of fun to my 10-minute home spa party for one and are super easy to apply. Currently in my rotation are these, by Masque Bar:
