KEEPING KIDS BUSY AT HOME

VIRTUAL YOGA

Cosmic Kids Yoga

Yoga, mindfulness, and relaxation designed especially for kids aged 3+, used in schools and homes all over the world. My daughter absolutely loves the Disney Princess yoga classes you can find on YouTube.

PLAY A GAME

Heads Up! is the fun and hilarious game from Ellen DeGeneres that she plays on her show, and you can play with your friends and now you can play with your kids with their kids version. \

From naming celebrities to singing to silly accents — guess the word, animals, things in the house on the card that’s on your head from your friends’ clues before the timer runs out!

GARDENING

kids gardeningTeaching your kids about gardening can be both therapeutic, educational and fun! Plus after they grow their veggies they can look up recipes for their veggies to cook with family. Talk about the importance of eating healthy fruits and veggies to grow strong and avoid being sick!

Soiree by Ria takes the guesswork out of what is needed to garden. Her kits include the essentials to get you started in creating your own little fruit + veggie garden and is a great way to teach the littles about how to grow their own produce.

GIVE BACK

Make cards and crafts for the elderly.

kids making cards for elderlyTeaching children the importance of compassion is truly needed in our world. At San Diego Moms Care, they strive to create meaningful events to serve the community like St. Paul Pace (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). Planting the seeds of volunteering will flourish into wonderful opportunities for your children.

Mail your cards to St. Pauls Pace when complete: 111 Elm St, San Diego, CA 92101.

Other ways to give back:

  • Organize a food drive in your neighborhood and deliver to a local food bank. www.feedingsandiego.org
  • Deliver meals (with your parents of course): Vulnerable seniors are at greatest risk from COVID-19. Let’s help keep them safe and cared for. If you have a neighbor over 65, call and offer to help get them food and other necessities. Or, visit www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org.

Watch a movie in your backyard – we have a hammock and the other night I just brought my laptop out and propped it up to watch it on the outside table. There are very reasonably priced screens or tvs that can be dedicated for outdoor watching as well.

Something fun and different that the whole family will enjoy.

CAMP IN YOUR BACKYARD

Pitch a tent in your backyard with the whole family and spend the night out under the stars. Or better yet send dad out with the kids for a night.
