We are excited to announce that Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.) will be on-site during the event. This organization was founded in 2013 by Tim Ballard, a former Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. They operate with 3 strategies to combat child sex trafficking and sexual exploitation: International Operations, Domestic Law Enforcement Relations, and Aftercare for the survivors. They will be on-site with critical safety information supplied by a team of O.U.R. representatives (English and Spanish Speaking).
This will be an eye-opening experience where you’ll learn the signs of human-trafficking, take home actionable prevention tips for community and on-line safety, learn what O.U.R. does, and how you can “Join in the Fight”.
The internet is the top recruiting location for all forms of human trafficking. (Human Trafficking Trends in 2020, Polaris Project). Please watch the trailer for “It’s Happening Right Here“. It is a documentary that unveils the truth that sex trafficking can happen in every community in the U.S. Awareness about online grooming, sextortion, and trafficking, along with preventative tools, are examined through interviews with law enforcement, technology experts, and survivors. Despite the darkness of this crime, hope can be found in the organization fighting to end trafficking and those sharing their experiences to protect others. BIG NEWS: Chewie, O.U.R. ESD Detection K9 in Riverside County is Set to Stop by Family Safety Day!
The role of Electric Storage Detection (ESD) K9s in protecting children against online predators cannot be overemphasized, as they provide invaluable assistance in detecting and preventing crimes against children.
According to the FBI, an estimated 750,000 child predators are online at any given time, with easy access to children through the internet. As parents, it is essential to realize the vulnerability of our children in this digital age and take necessary precautions to protect them.
The ESD K9 Detection Program is one of the many ways that Operation Underground Railroad supports domestic law enforcement and their ability to prevent and prosecute crimes against children.
Meet Chewie! ⤴️
Chewie became a vital part of the Riverside team through Operation Underground Railroad’s ESD Detection K9 Program. He and his handler, Joel Pabelico, will be making a special appearance at the Family Safety Day on 9/30, where they will demonstrate the remarkable work they do as an ESD K9 team.
Surprisingly, San Diego only has one ESD K9 to combat online predators, making it more vulnerable to these predators.
Which is WHY San Diego Moms has launched a fundraiser to raise $21,000, which will cover the costs of placing an ESD Detection K9 in San Diego.
This includes all expenses such as K9 training, a monthly stipend for food, vet care, and Jordan Detections. Jordan Detection K9 partners Operation Underground Railroad and part of that project includes providing funds to train ESD K9s at no cost to the agency.

We are SO excited to share that at the event you can have your car seat professionally checked by a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) from Safe Kids San Diego for FREE.
In the coming weeks you will be able to reserve your car seat check online soon. Day of appointments will be taken on a first come first serve basis, but online reservations are highly recommended.

California Highway Patrol {Car Seat Safety}
Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself and your passengers in a crash. It is extremely important to make sure all children riding in your car be properly secured before every trip.
Thousands of children are injured or killed every year because their child passenger safety seats are not installed properly. Remember, most collisions occur within a mile of the home – so buckle your child in a safety seat for every trip, no matter how short. If you’re not confident of how to properly secure your child in a safety seat, contact your local CHP Area Office, and ask to speak with a child passenger safety technician. Federal Bureau of Investigation {FBI}
The FBI’s investigative programs include counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cyber, public corruption, civil rights, transnational organized crime, white collar crime, violent crime, and weapons of mass destruction. They have created two great resources for families. (1) The Child ID app—the first mobile application created by the FBI—provides a convenient place to electronically store photos and vital information about your children on your smartphone (note: no information is stored or collected by the FBI). (2) The FBI, in partnership with the DEA, created a short documentary focusing on the crisis of prescription drug and opioid abuse. The film, Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict, outlines the dangerous cycle of opioid and prescription drug abuse—how the problem starts, how the addiction takes hold, and how that addiction damages one’s life and body.
