San Diego Moms Blog is excited to announce our 3rd annual Sips and Sweets with Santa at Hotel Karlan on Saturday, December 1st from 9:30am-12:30pm.
Hotel Karlan is a beautiful location for any event, and they offer a range of indoor and outdoor venues for you to choose from. Meet us in the elegant Carmel Highlands Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 450 guests.
Back again for the second year in a row, Gymboree of Poway and Gymboree of Solana Beach have paired up to sponsor our Sugar Cookie Decorating Station. Gymboree’s story began in 1976 when Joan Barnes, a mother from Marin County, California, tried to find a safe, fun place featuring age-appropriate activities for parents and young children to play together. Unable to do so, she did what any innovative, entrepreneurial mom would: she started her own program!
Also in attendance for the second year, Rise Buddy is participating as our Gold Sponsor. Rise Buddy rice crisps are the next best thing since potato chips, an alternative snack and movement to “Healthy” junk food. Stop by and learn about how this family got into the healthy chip business.
Get ready to be enchanted by The Storybook Characters Company. These princesses will entertain with an interactive story and a meet ‘n greet with photo ops. San Diego’s best character entertainment company, providing the most authentic and experienced singing princess party characters for birthday and special events!
The entertainment doesn’t stop there. Dance to Evolve will have the little ones wiggling in their dance demo. Their talented teachers create welcoming classes that balance learning with fun so that the dancers are always improving with a smile and a giggle! Make sure you stop by their sponsorship table to participate in a Christmas craft.
Joining us for the first year, San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum will bring the fun to us! SDCDM has graciously sponsored a mobile exhibit for our guests in attendance to enjoy. San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is a nonprofit organization providing hands-on educational exhibits and programs focusing on science, art, and world cultures for over 100,000 visitors including children, families and school groups annually.
If you need to take a quiet moment, Renee Book Corner has us covered with a cozy corner. Renee May is a Mom, Team Leader and Educational Consultant with Usborne Books and a United States Navy Helicopter Pilot. Take a moment to visit Renee and take a look at the most amazing children’s books.
Visit the SDMB letters to Santa station. Here your kiddos can pause and write a letter to Santa. Take it home and mail it or put it in the mailbox on the table, we will send it for you!
Don’t forget to visit Karen of Paper and Paste Design Co., our favorite party design sisters sponsored a Ginger Bread House station with a no mess twist. That’s right no graham crackers and frosting here, these houses are made of paper.
Don’t forget to visit our softzone play area sponsored by Baby Quip. The softzone play area comes equipped with a ball pit, two bouncy horses, soft climbers, a tunnel and blocks, perfect for crawlers to 3 year old. BabyQuip helps families pack light and travel happy to hundreds of destinations in the US and Canada.

The event wouldn’t be complete without the chance to take a Holiday photo with Santa Larry. Santa and his helper are dedicated members of the Poway Elks (one of 10 locations in the area) which serves local communities, veterans, and children with fundraisers, community projects and other charitable endeavors.
SDMB team photographer and owner of Jessica Raymond Photography will be onsite focusing on the photos with Santa.
As a mom herself Jessica knows the importance of capturing your family and children through each stage of life. Jessica’s goal is to capture your children’s blossoming personalities and turn it into beautiful art.
